Fludha Guest House Kirkcudbright

From the moment we saw Fludha, sitting on a hill on the outskirts of Kirkcudbright with views over the town and the bend in the river Dee, we knew that we had found the place for our dream home and Guest House. The elegant period house too long hidden away and uncared for cried out to be brought into the 21st century. After over a year of remodelling we achieved something we are very proud of indeed, a house that, as the only guest house in Dumfries and Galloway to be awarded 5 Stars by the Scotish Tourist Board can justifiably be described as one of the finest places to stay in Dumfries and Galloway.

Licensed Guest House

After a major remodelling and total refurbishment in 06/07 Fludha now offers 6 Individualy Designed Guest Rooms, luxuriously and tastefully furnished. All rooms have stunning en-suite bathrooms and are equiped with quality furniture including large flat screen televisions. Broadband wi-fi internet connection is available throughout the guest house. Our new for 2011 Guest Lounge and Art Gallery are located on the ground floor and are already proving hugely popular with our guests for pre and after dinner drinks

Award Winning Dining

Breakfast and Evening Meals

After a day "out and about" in Galloway's glorious countryside why not complete the day and dine in Fludha's elegant surroundings in the evening? Christine's home cooked multiple choice menu will delight even the most discerning of food lovers. All of which is absolutely perfect when accompanied by a glass or two of wine from the quality wine list. With great views south and west over the river from the dining room there is no better place to sit and watch the sun go down.

Kirkcudbright

Established as a Royal Burgh in 1455, Kirkcudbright has always been supported by a busy fishing trade. Behind the harbour the streets have housed generations of creative artists, a tradition maintained today by a flourishing colony of painters and craftworkers. This has led to it being called "The Artists' Town" Other well known features of the town are the pastel coloured houses and wide streets. We have a wide selection of mainly family owned shops where almost everything can be got, and parking is free all over town.
